Still no sign of early summer: as the experts from Geosphere Austria predicted on Sunday, it will remain wet and cool in the coming week. The culprit is an Italian low, expected to spread over the entire country from Tuesday.
Monday starts in the west and north with many dense clouds and rain. In the day, however, the clouds will loosen up locally, and by the evening, there will finally be a mix of dense clouds with some sunshine in almost all parts of the country. However, the tendency for showers remains generally increased, and thus rain showers are to be expected again and again, especially over the mountainous and hilly areas. The wind will be moderate and brisk in exposed regions, mainly from the west to the northwest. Early temperatures will reach five to twelve degrees, with daytime highs of 14 to 21 degrees.
An Italian low will determine the weather in all parts of Austria during the day on Tuesday. Already in the morning, generally dense clouds prevail. In the morning, it will rain, especially in the west and south. Gradually, the precipitation will eventually spread to all of Austria and intensify until the evening and during the night. The wind will be light to moderate on the mountains and the eastern edge of the Alps, partly increasing from northwest to northeast. Temperatures will rise from five to eleven degrees in the morning to twelve to 18 degrees during the day.
Wednesday: The low-pressure influence will persist so that the sky will be mostly cloudy apart from short clearings. Rain is expected to be frequent at first, becoming weaker and less frequent from the southeast during the afternoon. The wind will be moderate to brisk at the eastern edge of the Alps, also strong, from northwest to northeast. In the morning, temperatures will range from four to 13 degrees, and in the afternoon, seven to 16 degrees.
Many clouds will also be present on Thursday, with only brief glimpses of sunshine. In addition, especially along the main ridge of the Alps and partly in the south, a few rain showers will fall. The most sun will be in the north and the far west. The wind will be light to moderate in the east and partly in the foothills of the Alps brisk, from northwest to east. Early temperatures will range between two and eleven degrees, and afternoon temperatures between twelve and 18 degrees.
On Friday, the sun will shine intermittently in the western half. In the afternoon, a few cluster clouds will form. Further east, there will be considerably more clouds and only some sun in between. Over the mountains, isolated, short rain showers are possible in the afternoon. The wind will be weak to moderate from northwest to east. The lowest temperatures will be two to twelve degrees, and the highest temperatures during the day will be 13 to 21 degrees.
